Checking in was a breeze. However, on the way to my room I walked through the casino – yes, you read it right – and saw the slot machines, the pit, various tables, and the dancers at the Heart Bar (more on all this later). I reach my room and was taken back by two things. The view from the windows was breathtaking. I could look onto the pools, the surfing zone, a part of the Strip and the Aria and the Cosmopolitan. Bright signs, glowing lights and multi-coloured displays all welcomed me to my room. The other thing that struck me was the memorabilia in the room. I had been told by the team that got me there that I could choose from a variety of hotels to stay in namely; The Paris, Flamingo, Harrah’s, Rio, The Linq and that all of them would have a separate and a distinct theme to them. Planet Hollywood’s theme is that each of their room and suite has memorabilia from different Hollywood movies in them. The room allotted to me had posters, shoes, clothes and the robe from the movie, ‘Dumb and Dumber’. The Sunday evening couldn’t have been better and after a relaxing, warm bath when I snuggled underneath the duvet after speaking to everyone back home and exchanging a few emails with people from work I had a smile on my face. I slipped into blissful sleep looking at the signage for the Aria and trying to decide whether I was more excited for getting into my workplace tomorrow or having bacon for breakfast 😀
